When we speak in tongues does the devil understand what we are saying?
Of course from the scriptures above the bible says 'in the spirit he speaketh mysteries', that means the devil does not understand what you are saying when you are speaking in tongues.
If tongues were an heavenly language, or the language of heaven, the devil would understand it, because he was in heaven even before the creation of man, so the devil would understand. But he does not understand?
Tongues is a coded communication between: you and God, you and you, you and the church, you and angels and you and devils.
YOU AND GOD
1 Corinthians 14:2 For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries.
In the spirit, the information is coded, but in reality you're communicating with God.
YOU AND THE CHURCH
1 Corinthians 14:4 He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself; but he that prophesieth edifieth the church.
1 Cor 14:27-28
If any man speak in an unknown tongue, let it be by two, or at the most by three, and that by course; and let one interpret.
But if there be no interpreter, let him keep silence in the church; and let him speak to himself, and to God.
When you speak in tongues and there's an interpretation, this becomes a prophecy and it edifies the church.
YOU AND YOU
This is the communication between your inner man and your outer man.
You condition your life to go in the direction of the spirit when you speak in tongues.

1 Cor 14:27-28
If any man speak in an unknown tongue, let it be by two, or at the most by three, and that by course; and let one interpret.
But if there be no interpreter, let him keep silence in the church; and let him speak to himself, and to God.
Paul explains to the church that while in church, if someone in church wants to minister to everyone in tongues, there must be an interpretation. So, the interpreter interpretes it to the language of the people, but if there is no interpreter, he should continue speaking to himself and God, so he should continue ministering to himself and God.
In talking in tongues, you are talking to YOU.
Your spirit knows everything and everywhere, when you pray in the spirit you are praying in the language of your inner man- your spirit, but when you pray in your understanding, you're praying in the language of your outer man- your mind.
So when you pray in the spirit, you're taking the perfect decision to salvaging the situation. Don't forget man is a spirit, so the way man should pray is in the spirit.
If there's an infirmity in your body, lay your hands on it, close your eyes (shut out the mind) and speak in tongues as you do this you're 'edifying' building and rebuilding yourself. Maybe you were told your heart is dead or dying, but you can 'edify' it. How? By speaking in tongues.

Jude 1:20 But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,

YOU AND ANGELS
1 Corinthians 14:8 For if the trumpet give an uncertain sound, who shall prepare himself to the battle?
Your angels are at stand by, waiting to swing into action. They are waiting for your command. But
"1 Corinthians 14:8 For if the trumpet give an uncertain sound, who shall prepare himself to the battle?" Your verbal communication is perfect for man-to-man communication, this is how you communicate to man. But when you want to communicate PERFECTLY to angels, speak their coded language.
1 Corinthians 13:1 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.
So there's such a thing as the tongue of angel.
So if you want your angel to carry out that PERFECT assignment PERFECTLY, speak in TONGUES.
The way to codedly address your angels on what to do is to speak in tongues.
YOU AND DEVILS
1 Corinthians 14:9 So likewise ye, except ye utter by the tongue words easy to be understood, how shall it be known what is spoken? for ye shall speak into the air.
So he says when you're speaking in tongues, you're speaking INTO the air. Who or what is in the air?
Ephesians 2:2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:
So who 'the prince of the power of the air'- he gives another description, 'the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience'. So he is referring to Satan and his agents, demons.
So when YOU SPEAK IN TONGUES, you are addressing demons. They just find themseles taking their hands off everything that concerns you, even they, cannot understand how it is happening, but it is happening. They just find themselves running away from you, the funny thing is that they cannot explain why.
The hours you spend praying in your understanding is only worth miliseconds of someone speaking in tongues.
