It comes like a drama- soon it fades out and the curtain falls
You cannot say it is crawling; because soon the day will be dark
You cannot say it’s too fast- No! not if you’ve sat for hours waiting
for a particular o’ clock that seem so far away.
But the beautiful thing about time is it’s animate- It takes up the
character of its owner.
From the day you’re born you start dying because your clock starts
ticking and your time starts counting. Your time takes on your personality- so
you determine what happens with your time.
Your time is your life, how you spend your time will reflect on the
quality of your life because time is the ingredient that makes life, without
time there is no life.
So if you spend a whole lot of your time on a particular sport, you
would be associated with that sport. If you spend your time with a particular
person, you would be associated with that person.
When you see people today, you can tell where they’ve spent their time
all these years because you can’t come out of the oven and stink of urine.
Your present status medically, financially, educationally and mentally
is a reflection of how you have been spending your time. Your close friends and
allies are also a reflection of how you spend your time.
If you stare at the clock for 60 seconds, you just wasted one minute of
your life.
Time is a gift given to you by God to make your life better; if all you
do with your time is eat, sleep and make someone else’s dream a reality, then
you’re not different from a dog- after all that’s exactly what bingo does.
It’s time to use your time wisely; it’s time to improve you with the
time you’re given by God. Before you embark on any activity ask yourself if
that activity is adding any value to your life- if it’s not there’s no need
using your own time to kill yourself. Your time is your own asset to make
yourself better, please don’t waste it.
Imagine you have one bundle of #1,000 note that is #100,000 (one hundred
thousand naira), then you use that money to buy roasted groundnut tied in white
nylon (often sold for #20)- that is a waste! But ironically that’s how some of
us spend our time, we invest our lives on activities that adds no value to us.
We hang out with friends that takes us off our course in life, we chill in the
evenings only to get back home drunk, we inhale chemical compositions that ends
up destroying our kidney and livers- we use our time to kill ourselves. Why?
One day you’re going to give account of how you spent your time. When
your kids start asking you questions- you would give them an answer. When your
grand kids start querying why you can’t take them on vacation like their
colleagues in school- I pray you have a justifiable reason of how you spent
your time when you had the energy.
One day you’d visit the hospital and the doctor would ask you how you
have been spending your time- and I hope your answer would not be embarrassing
to you.
And most importantly, one day God is going to ask you how you spent your
time.
